Emma Hoiberg
I was admitted to the bar in 2015.
I practise primarily in commercial and public law, with particular expertise in acting for government clients and in appellate work. I regularly appear led and unled in State and federal courts and tribunals at all levels.
I hold a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and the University Medal in Law from the Queensland University of Technology (2007), and a Bachelor of Civil Law with Distinction from the University of Oxford (2012).
Prior to commencing practice at the bar, my employment history included: ·
Associate to Justice Kiefel (as her Honour then was) of the High Court;
Solicitor at Clayton Utz Lawyers in Brisbane, principally in the Government Services Group;
Policy officer with the NSW Law Reform Commission;
Sessional tutor in Torts Law at the Queensland University of Technology.
I am listed in Doyle’s Guide for Leading Administrative and Public Law Barristers in Queensland for 2024.
I am a member of the Law Council of Australia’s Competition and Consumer Law Committee and the Bar Association of Queensland’s Migration Law Committee.
